Christmas is Not Your Birthday Special Offering Results!
Thank you to everyone who generously gave a special birthday present to Jesus through our Christmas is Not Your Birthday offering. We accepted these special offerings through the end of December 2010 and were very blessed by the results. Because of this offering, we were able to significantly reduce Zion's outstanding financial obligations, catch up in payments to our benevolences (ministry partners) and build two new homes in Haiti with full latrines (which are very much needed due to the presence of cholera).
Thank you for this wonderful reminder that we are called to share all God has given to us with other who are in need. It is truly more blessed to give than to receive!
Thanks be to God...
... for all the wonderful gifts He has given to each and every one of you and for the abundant world he has created! As you have heard through council reports, congregational meetings and general conversation, the goal of the Stewardship Ministry to is to help God’s people grow in their relationship with Jesus through the use of the time, talents, and finances God has entrusted to them. We will do this while remaining focused on Zion’s Mission to RECIEVE God’s love, REJOICE through praise and celebration, RESPOND by giving to others, and REACH out for Christ.
Ask, Thank, Tell, books distributed by the Stewardship Ministry Team...
Throughout the coming months you will hear us talk a lot about a recent book that each of us on the Stewardship Ministry Team have read and look forward to sharing with each of you. The book titled, Ask, Thank, Tell, will beprovided to any member of Zion that commits to reading it. We will be distributing the books during the coffee hours between and after our Sunday worship time together. Our hope is that through reading and applying the stewardship and discipleship concepts in the book that together we will be able to celebrate the great gifts God has entrusted to us, be better able to understand the connection between faith and finances, and commit our hearts and trust to Jesus Christ in all things. We will be lifting up certain chapters of the book during short stewardship moments presented each Stewardship Sunday. Be sure to get your free copy of this book given by the Stewardship Ministry team - after all, we are the experts in giving things away!
For all things Stewardship related please contact Dave Matthews, Carol Wiemken or Tracee Wielinski. We would be happy to chat with you further about the great things our ministry team has in store as we celebrate giving back to God what He has greatly given to us!
